Liliane Devereux-De Lorme

Married to Zacharie Pavern, which turned out to be a marriage of convenience. Had four children. Not only were there rumors her husband was gay, her relationship with her sister in law's younger sister, Ingrid Duvall, was constantly in question by the public. The two were, for a very long time, lovers, and did their best to be discreet about it, only to be outed by her older brother, Laurent Devereux-De Lorme. The relationship between the two never recovered.

Liliane Devereux-De Lorme was born in 1909. As the youngest child of Mathilde De Lorme and Davide Willheim Devereux, she was favored by her father. Particularly after her oldest sister, Fleur, died, age 13 in 1914. The family were well known from the end of the 19th century when Mathilde (Liliane’s mother) and Ludivine (Liliane’s aunt) opened a wedding business in the heart of Paris. The family legacy was further expanded when their older brother, Rodolphe, received significant significant honours for his involvement in the Sino-French war in 1885. However, when news arose in the late 1930s that an affair had developed between the married Liliane, and her brother’s wife’s sister, further questions were raised about the credibility of the family business. In response, Pascale distanced herself from her younger sister, and refused to speak to her brother’s wife. She managed to salvage most of the reputation of the business, but in conjunction with the scandal involving Juliette L’Artaire, the business had a difficult time making a comeback.
