Personal Information
Valérie is the middle child of the Jacques and Astrid L'Artaire. Her older sister, Delphine, though throughly academic, was not as pretty as her younger sister and often Valérie took full advantage of the fact her mother seemed to be acutely aware of this.
Valérie was originally called Suzette, but at the age of 17 decided that she did not like the name and was legally renamed Valérie Suzette Anabel L'Artaire.
Backstory
She married Luc Halifax at age 25, a much more responsible age than her younger brother, who wed his childhood sweetheart Collette at age 21. They had a small private ceremony, only inviting friends and family. However, her father refused to attend, following an event that occured in 1962 between her father and her then boyfriend, Jean-Baptiste. She had refused to speak to him, though had, in fact, sent him a wedding invitation which he had declined. Her mother attended, though relations were awkward and forced.
She has a good relationship with her nephew, Etienne, though due to family circumstances, she does not often get to see him.
Relations with her siblings are also somewhat strained and distant, though since moving to Wales in 1980, Luc and Valérie have managed to attempt to reconcile with her niece and great nieces and nephews, who are living in London.
